There is an avid group of Central Alberta Quilters' Guild members who build quilts large and small to donate to worthy groups or individuals. These quilts are put together in a twice monthly gathering where fabric is magically sewn into amazing bed, lap and baby quilts. Much of the fabric used in Care Quilts is donated by individuals. To return this generosity, the finished quilts are donated to  Central Alberta communities.

Care Quilts are given to adults, teens, children and babies who need warmth, comfort and care. Some of the individual recipients are down on their luck, have health problems are are simply lonely. If there is a need, we build them a quilt. Other quilts are donated to charities to use as fundraisers and others go to hospitals and support organizations to be used by their clients. Examples of the organizations receiving Care Quilts are Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre, Ronald McDonald House, Red Deer Festival of Trees among others.

If you know of an individual or family living in Central Alberta whom you think are deserving recipients of a quilt or quilts, please contact our
Guild. Our group will assess the request and send out the quilts appropriately. ‚Äč
