Central Alberta Quilters Guild

Care Quilts Charity Stack

Within the Central Alberta Quilters' Guild there is a group of avid quilters who build quilts large and small. These quilts are put together in a twice monthly gathering where fabric is magically sewn into amazing bed, lap, and crib quilts for the community. They are given to adults, teens, children, and babies who need warmth, comfort and care. Some of the recipients are down on their luck, have health problems, or are simply lonely. If there is a need, we will build them a quilt.

If you know of an individual or family living in Central Alberta whom you think are potential recipients of such quilts, contact our guild. Our group will assess and send out the quilts appropriately.

Much of the fabric we use is donated by individuals. To return this generosity, our group helps out Central Alberta Community groups by giving them quilts that can be used in their fundraising raffles. Examples of such groups are long term care centres and the Red Deer Festival of Trees. Click here to see a list of the recent donations.

While making these Care Quilts, we also care for each other, sharing thoughts, ideas and laughter as our hands are kept busy. What could be better than that?
