Nancy Mahoney

Author, teacher, and fabric designer, Nancy Mahoney has enjoyed making quilts for over thirty years.  An impressive range of her beautiful quilts have been features in many books and quilt magazines.  Nancy believes making a quilt should be fun.  In her classes, her goal is for students to have a good time, learn something new, and make a quilt that they will enjoy for many years.

Breakfast Lecture

We are excited to kick off each day of our show with a limited seating, continental breakfast which starts at 7:30 am.  Nancy will start her Scrap Quilts Trunk Show Lecture at 8:15 am.  Nancy will share more than 50 scrap quilts, including vintage quilts from her collection.  Hear how her love of vintage quilts has influenced her approach to quiltmaking.  Nancy will share tips for making stunning scrap quilts and expanding your thoughts about making scrap quilts.

We are also including a one day show pass and exclusive early access to the quilt show.  Tickets are $40 and available at Tickets Alberta.

Dot to dot

Class begins with using strip piecing techniques to make the patchwork blocks. Then we'll shift our focus to easy invisible machine appliqué techniques. You'll receive tips for sewing accurate patchwork and all aspects of invisible machine appliqué. Learn how to use your sewing machine to achieve finished appliqués that look hand stitched. Pattern included for each student. Finished size: 59" x 59". Based on Simple Circles and Quick Curves book.

Wild Waves

Create a dynamic design with this off-center Pineapple block, while learning all the tricks of foundation paper piecing. In this fast-pace class, all aspects of foundation paper piecing will be covered, including how to measure, cut, and correctly position the right fabric piece. This is a great class for mastering foundation paper piecing! Pattern included for each student. Quilt size: 60" x 60". Supply list includes materials and cutting for table runner and small wall hanging.
