Quilt Entry Registration

Anyone living in Central Alberta, defined as being bordered in the North by Breton, South by Acme, and border to border, is welcome to enter quilts in the show.

There is a limit of seven (7) entries per person (committee will use their judgement if the number of entries is too large for the display area). There is no fee for Guild members to enter quilts or bags.

There is no entry fee for the youth category. 

If you are NOT a Central Alberta Quilt Guild member there is a $25.00 fee for each quilt or bag entered. Please go to Participant Fees to pay non-member quilt registration fee.

Online Quilt Registration opens Thursday, February 1, 2024 at 10 AM.

Entry deadline is Monday, April 15, 2024, at 8 pm. No exceptions or extensions will be provided.

Drop-off day is Saturday, April 27, 2024, from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm at the Elks Hall No. 85, 6315- Horn St. Red Deer.

Quilt pick-up takes place May 11, 2024, between 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm at the Westerner. Be sure to have your photo ID in order to pick up your quilt.  

The show will take place at the Exhibition Hall of the Westerner in Red Deer on May 10 & 11, 2024.

Quilt Entry Rules

  • An online entry form is required for each entered item. The accuracy of the form is the responsibility of the entrant.

  • You must choose only one category for your quilt entry. Entries will not be switched between categories without consultation with entrant.

  • All quilts must be three layers.

  • All quilts must have a sewn-on label on the back lower corner identifying the name of the entrant and name of the quilt.

  • All quilts must have a basted-on sleeve for hanging (of at least 4”). No safety-pinned sleeves will be accepted.

  • Any quilt deemed unfit to hang will be removed from the show (eg. dirty, smelling like smoke, etc.).

  • Maximum size of any quilt entry will be 480” perimeter (10 feet X 10 feet).

  • Person who quilted the item must be identified on the entry form.

  • The person entering the quilt will be the person who will win the award.

  • Quilts that require special handling will not be the responsibility of the quilt show committee.

  • Embellishments must be securely affixed to the quilt or the quilt may not be accepted for the show.
