Spirit Rose

By:  Kathleen Riggins

This quilt was pieced in a weekend, which I don't recomment.  I had to soak my hands in ice water when I got home.  I had fun playing with quilting designs on it on my longarm.

Radiant Christmas Poinsettias

By:  Myrna Wagner

I have had this pattern for several years.  After seeing the one made by Wendy Greber a couple of years ago, I was determined to finish mine, which I had started in 2014.  It was finished and quilted by me in time to hange at our entrance for Christmas 2017.  It is a quilt we will display and enjoy at Christmas for many years.

Little Red Wagon

By Wendy Greber

I made this original design  as a Guild Quilt Challenge of creating a quilt inspired by a song. My inspiration for this piece was a country song named Little Red Wagon sung by Miranda Lambert. Growing up as a child I remember my little red wagon and now this one has a new purpose in life.

Sweet Journey

by Annette Johnston

This is a Baltimore Album style quilt containing some blocks made in classes with Elly Sienkiewicz, a Baltimore Album historian. When I was deciding between calling it Smooth Sailing or Sweet Journey, I settled on Sweet Journey because my journey into making BA quilts was so wonderful; stretching my applique skills and handquilting skills far beyond what I ever thought was possible. The medallion of the Bluenose was designed by myself for our eldest son, Brad, who will be the recipient of this quilt.

Long Time Gone

by: Kathy Rideout

I joined an online challenge last year (hosted by gnomeangel, snipsnippets and Marti Michell) to make this scrappy quilt. It was very much a challenge time-wise, and everyone had to prove they were keeping up as we went along. I love using Marti Michell templates, and she provided conversions of Jen's instructions along the way, as well as making her own.  I gave this quilt to my daughter, Eryn for her 40th birthday in December.

Brassica

by:  Jasmine Travers-Charbonneau

Brassicas are a hardy vegetable variety that grow well in the colder temperatures we have in Alberta. This quilt is inspired by the immense beauty and colour-contrast found when cutting a purple cabbage in half. Needle-turn applique was used to apply the entire cabbage as one piece to the white background. The quilting by Kathleen Riggins incorporates the Latin name and also makes the cabbage "pop' from the densely quilted background.

Stars for a New Day

This is one of Sue Garman's quilt patterns. Paper piecing and sewing take time to do. Love the stars.

Mama Said

by Annette Johnston

Little sayings by my Mother and probably everyone else's drew me to making this quilt. Also the lessons learned giving each block its name.

Vortex

by Ardelle Kerr

I started this quilt at QuiltCon 2017 in a class by Victoria Findlay Wolfe! She had us use a basic kaleidoscope block but use an improve colouring technique! So all quilts in the class were unique! I finished one block in the class, the rest at home. Then I had a blast quilting it on my longarm!

Inferno Treez

by Wendy Greber

I designed this quilt using techniques explained by Jan Mullen. I did not use her pattern but designed my own layout and created my unique border from my leftovers which I like very much. The colour values gives this quilt a lively visual appeal.

Bali Wedding Star

by Marie Barkley

I had seen quilts from this pattern in the Spokane quilt show. I purchased the paper piecing pattern and the 2.5" strips for the circles at that show. The background material was purchased from Hancock's and the material for the stars from Along Came Quilting in Calgary. The border on the pattern was flying geese and larger than I made it. The border changes were my own.
