CAQG Newsletter – check your email for monthly guild news. This is the most accurate, comprehensive and up-to-date information from our President, Brenda Watts. Contains Upcoming Events and Useful Resources (Membership list, Library list, and much more, listed at bottom of email).

Zoom Meetings – Our guild will sometime host workshops, speakers, and meetings via Zoom. Meeting invitation and links are in your CAQG Member Info email.

Facebook – join the PRIVATE FB group for guild members only. You will then have access to Guild Program registration for retreats, workshops, announcements, photos and Files (supply lists, patterns, etc.)

Quilt Show – An annual event organized and managed by the CAQG held each year in the spring at the Westerner grounds. Featuring quilt judging and display, vendor market, demonstrations, etc. Contact Quilt Show Leadership quiltshow@centralalbertaquilters.org

Show and Tell- bring your completed quilts and show them to our membership! This is a favorite feature of our meetings… we have an opportunity to appreciate the talent in our membership and learn ideas we can use on our next quilting project.

Care Quilting – quilted projects made for those in need. Contact Shirley Mills.

Library - We have an impressive collection of pattern books, magazines, instructional DVD’s and rulers- all available to Central Alberta Quilters’ Guild members for check out! You can see our entire library selection on our website or peruse the library in person at each monthly meeting! Contact Rene Altena or Carrie Berg for more information.

Retreats

Join us for a sewing retreat! We gather once in the fall and once in the spring for a long weekend of sewing, fellowship and catered meals. These are held at a location usually within 30 minutes of Red Deer. Contact Dariel Dent.

There are also Sleep in Your Own Bed retreats throughout the year (SIYOB). Location is usually within City limits. You eat breakfast at home and bring a lunch and some participants go out for dinner. Contact Dariel Dent or Judy Dobson.

Interest Groups – watch Facebook for announcements about occasional groups such as embroidery, hand stitching and others.

Social Meet Up – virtual meet-up every Sunday afternoon. Contact Tannis Porter.

Christmas Runner Exchange – details on Facebook. Contact Colleen Ward.

Christmas Quilt – members make a block according to a supplied pattern. A quilt is constructed from all the blocks and the top is raffled off to one lucky guild member. Guild pays for quilting and recipient keeps the quilt! Contact Susan Apperley.

UFO Challenge – (Unfinished Objects) Our guild challenges the Stettler guild to completing (sometimes years old!) unfinished projects. Contact Tannis Porter for information on how to enter this challenge.
