Fidget Mats

Rita and Colleen recently completed the delivery of the 51 fidget mats we collected at the June 2025 meeting.

They were distributed as follows:

Red Deer Hospice: 15 mats, CARE WEST: 15 mats, and Hamlets of Red Deer: 21 mats

The staff at each facility were thrilled to receive such thoughtful donations. In one case, they had a specific mat picked out for a certain person and had it delivered to her before we left the building.

It felt so good to deliver these beautiful fidget mats on behalf of the guild. Thanks to all the guild members for all your effort.

We had 25 quilters come out for the August BBQ. It was a lovely potluck followed by some games and Show and Share. Thanks to the Social Committee and the Programs Committee.

Raven Beauty class

October 2025

Terry Rowland taught 20 Guild members how to make their own Raven Beauty. It was a fun and infomative class. Choosing the “eye” brought our birds to life.

CAQG AWAY RETREAT

The 2025 Annual Away Retreat held at Mulhurst Camp was a great success. The venue had great views of Pigeon Lake where we watched the geese, swans and a red fox play. The big tables and excellent food were appreciated by all. Some would even say we had too many desserts! We got some quilting done, a puzzle was assembled, walks were taken and lots of laughs and visiting were fit in too.

Thanks to the Retreat Committee!

Our 2024 Christmas Social was a huge success:

  • 79 Members and 3 Guests Attended

  • 48 Mug Rugs exchanged

  • 148 Pillow Cases Donated

  • An amazing $1,809 was raised in the Silent Auction!

  • $848 to CAWES

  • $961 to the Food Bank

UFO Challenge Luncheon in Stettler

The lunch was held at the HUB in Stettler on Feb 26th from 1 - 4 pm.  This is always a great feast, but more importantly, friendship time. The entertainment was a quilt show and tell from members of both guilds. The guilds shared accomplishments and year-end highlights.
