Entrants must 18 years of age or younger. Entrants must be associated with a member of CAQG or must live in Central Alberta, defined as being bordered in the North by Breton, South by Acme, and border to border. It is free for Youth to enter a quilt.
Quilt Entry Rules
An online entry form is required for each item entered. The accuracy of the form is the responsibility of the entrant.
There is a limit of 3 entries per youth entrant.
You must choose only one category for your quilt entry.
The majority of the work must be completed by the entrant (with the exception of longarm quilting).
All quilts must be three layers; top/batting/backing.
All entries must have a sewn-on label identifying the name of the entrant and name of the quilt.
Any entry deemed unfit to hang will be removed from the show (e.g.. dirty, smelling like smoke, etc.).
Maximum size of any quilt entry will be 480” perimeter (120" X 120"/10 feet X 10 feet).
Entries that require special handling will not be accepted into the show.
Embellishments must be securely affixed to the quilt or the quilt may not be accepted for the show.
A printed quilt information card will be generated from some of your entry form responses. This card will hang beside your quilt at the show.
Name of mentor/instructor/organization and the name/phone number of the person picking up quilt is required on the form.
Quilts without a sleeve will be hung with hangers.
Online Quilt Registration opens Monday, February 9, 2026 at 8 am.
Entry deadline is Sunday, April 19, 2026, at 8 pm. No exceptions or extensions will be provided.
Quilt Intake (Drop-off day) is Sunday, April 26, 2026, from 12:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Elks Hall No. 85, 6315- Horn St. Red Deer.
Quilt pick-up takes place May 9, 2026, between 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm at the Westerner. Be sure to have your photo ID in order to pick up your quilt.
The show will take place at the Exhibition Hall of the Westerner in Red Deer on May 8 & 9, 2026.
